Ahhh…all the regular weekly functions are wrapped up for the spring here at the church. Time for the staff to sit back and put our feet up for a while. JUST KIDDING!

Did you know that the months when the regular activities are on break are actually some of the busiest months for the church staff? May through August are typically spent in meetings, planning, prepping, studying, and preparing to stay ahead of the game and be ready for fall programming. This month has been such a month. May has been quite busy for the church staff.

Mark has been working hard on sermon preparations, making visits, counseling, planning, board meetings…you know all the Pastor “stuff.”

John & Layla have been busy keeping the church in tip top shape for all of the graduation activities that have taken place here. We had the honor of hosting the APHS Baccalaureate service here this week, among several other activities. They have also done a great job adding flowers outside the church and keeping our grounds looking great.

Andrew has been busy wrapping up the worship as he prepares to take a few months off this summer.

And me…well I am in full VBS mode. The VBS team and I have been busy planning and preparing decorations and all of the details that go in to VBS. Below are a few pictures of our work-in-progress. We are extremely excited for the theme this year and are having a lot of fun getting ready. If you haven’t gotten your kiddos registered, please do so ASAP as that helps us to plan.

VBS is June 5-9 from 9-11:30 daily. Registration stations are set up here at the church. There is also a sign-up sheet in the sanctuary for some needs we have for snacks and such for the week. And once again we have our VBS CD’s for sale for $10 each. Now is the perfect time to snag a CD and get your kiddos listening to the awesome songs we have this year.

I also just want to extend a special thank you to Janice Cleary. She has been a huge help working on various project for me at her home. I am so grateful to our dedicated VBS team and their passion for making this a week the kids will surely remember!
