As we approach the July 4th holiday I can’t help but keep thinking of the words “God Bless America.”

I personally try not to get too consumed with the news headlines constant drama in this world that we live in. But the fact that we are in a constant state of change and endless controversy in the world around us is unavoidable.

So, what can we do about it? To me, the answer is simple…pray. Do what we can to make this earth a better place while we are here. “BElieve THEre is GOOD in the world.” Another simple answer…just be the good. Let the world see Jesus through you. This is a challenge for me as well. It’s so easy to let the negative, the stress, the chaos, the sadness, the worry, the whatever consume us.

Let’s make this Independence Day be different. Let’s pray that God will Bless America. Let’s remember that it’s because of Him and his great love for us that we are “free indeed.” John 8:36 “So if the Son sets you free, you are free indeed.” We are free from the negativity. We are filled with the Holy Spirit, equipped to spread the GOOD NEWS to the world.

Luke 4:18 “The Spirit of the Lord is on me, because he has anointed me to preach good news to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim freedom for the prisoners and recovery of sight for the blind, to release the oppressed, to proclaim the year of the Lord’s favor.”

Let’s call on the Holy Spirit to make a change in our hearts that we may be the change in the world that points to Jesus. Let’s pray that in us and through us the Lord will bless America.

Have a safe and blessed Independence Day!
