One of the many blessings here at First Congregational Church is the variety of opportunties for people of all ages. We specifically have a very active women’s ministry which include several ways for women to connect and grow together.

Our Ladies Guild is a monthly meeting of the “seasoned” women of the church. They meet on the second Wednesday of each month at 1:30 p.m. They usually begin their gatherings with a short business meeting, a devotional, and a few songs. Then each month they usually have a special presentation or guest speaker. Finally, they always end with a sweat treat of some sort. All women of the church of all ages are welcome to join the Ladies Guild for their monthly meetings. In September they will meet on the 13th at 1:30 p.m.

On September 23 our Ladies Guild will be hosting their annual Senior Luncheon for women and men who are 60 plus or retired. This is always a nice opportunity to mingle with friends and enjoy a delicious lunch.

Ladies Bible study is another fantastic opportunity for the women of the church to gather and grow together. We have two new studies offered this fall. As always, both of these studies are open to women of all ages.

On Tuesday mornings beginning September 12 at 9:00 a.m. I (Jen Troyna) will be leading a group studying “Present Over Perfec”t by Shauna Niequist. Leaving behind frantic for a simpler, more soulful way of living. In this study you will be invited to consider the landscape of your life, and what it might look like to leave behind the pressure to be perfect and begin the life-changing practice of simply being present, in the middle of the mess and ordinariness of life. We also offer childcare for our Tuesday morning group.

Every other Thursday evening beginning September 21 at 7:00 p.m. Les VanderHolt will lead a study by Andy Stanley titled “Who Needs Christmas.” Who needs Christmas? Seriously, who needs it? Well, as it turns out, we all do. You may find the events surrounding the birth of Jesus a bit unbelievable. If so, you’re not alone. But when you hear the entire story – the backstory – well . . . the whole thing is really quite remarkable.

In October our Deaconesses will be hosting a Ladies Night Out here at FCC. The date is set for October 14 at 6:00 p.m. The evening will feature a catered meal and a fabulous guest speaker. More details on this event will be released very soon!

As I mentioned we are fortunate to have many opportunities to encourage one another and grow together in our walk with the Lord.

Join us and be blessed!
