Much has taken place over the last few months since our last post. The holiday season was filled with activities starting with a Thanksgiving Eve Service and wrapping up with our Christmas Eve Candlelight Service. Those weeks were non-stop activity here at the church. In addition to organizing all of those extra services and activities, we have also been planning for some exciting opportunities ahead.

A new year always brings new energy and vision. We are prayerfully looking forward to adding two new staff members (hopefully soon) this year. In addition we invite you to join us for some of these fresh new opportunities to grow, connect, and serve this year!

Please join Pastor Mark and Molly at our Congo Connection Class on Sunday, Jan. 7 at 9:30 a.m. in the Prayer Room. We will help you learn about First Congregational and answer any questions you may have as well as explain what the next steps are for you as a new comer to our church. We hope you can join us!

How to get What you Really Want by Andy Stanley
with Aaron Thomas & Travis Williamson
This study will help you find what you really value in life. We’ll never get what we really want until we discover what is most valuable. And what we naturally want is often in conflict with what we ultimately value. So, in order to figure out what you really want, you have to figure out what you value. But your heavenly Father knows what you need. He wants for you what you really want. So, how do you put aside those natural wants and pursue what you ultimately value?

REACHms will “re-kick-off“ Sunday, January 7 with an open gym night. Meet at the High School at 6:00 p.m.  Please bring a clean pair of shoes. Kids can be picked up at the church at 8:00 p.m. Snacks provided by Emily Williamson. GLOWhs will resume on Jan. 10.  with a fun kick-off event, more details to come.

Ladies, we welcome you to join us on Tuesday mornings at 9:00-10:30 a.m. for Ladies Bible Study. Childcare is provided. We will work through a study by Kelly Minter titled “What Love Is”, 1, 2, & 3 John. John anchors us with truth in a culture that has lost its way. He separates light from darkness, offers community for loneliness, and rest for our striving. Throughout his letters John gives us the ultimate gift of assurance: we can know that we know Jesus. All ladies are welcome to join us!

As you can see the new year is brimming with possibility! We hope you will join us as we continue our vision to grow, connect and serve in the coming year!
